UNITED NATIONS – Rabbi Yisroel Goldstein, who was seriously injured in a deadly domestic terror attack at Chabad of Poway, Calif., addressed the U.N. General Assembly Wednesday in a special session devoted to rising anti-Semitism around the world. The Rabbi was invited at the personal request of Israeli Ambassador to the United Nations Danny Danon. Goldstein lost an index finger in the shooting.
It is time “to tackle the tsunami of hatred that is so visible and violence across the world today,” UN Secretary-General António Guterres said on Wednesday, at a special discussion by the UN General Assembly on the growing threat of antisemitism.

“We are here to show our face to what anti-Semitism has done and what we’re going to do to fight it,” Rabbi Goldstein said before he addressed the UN General Assembly. “And the way we fight it is not defeating it with darkness, but rather defeating it with light, and pushing away the darkness. Today, we are going to stand in this house of the United Nations and we are going to be a light, not just a light onto the nations, but a light to the world, so the world can see and know that anti-semitism is not just a Jewish issue but it’s a world issue. And today, we are going to take whatever it takes to eradicate it.”
