Meanwhile, Iran’s President Hassan Rouhani refused to meet with U.S. President Donald Trump while attending the 74th UN General Assembly this week. Last year, President Trump withdrew from Iran’s nuclear deal with major powers and reimposed tight sanctions on the the Islamic republic’s economy.
EU VP Mogherini reiterated that Iran can reverse course on the Nuclear Deal:
“What I believe is that every step that has been taken so far by Iran – and I underline so far- is reversible. We have constantly called upon Iran to reverse these decisions and go back to full compliance which has been the case until recently. Because this is in the best interests of all. Let me add that this is in the security interests of us all and is also in the economic interests in Iran. “
