A Resolution Ending Israeli Occupation “Long Overdue”: UK Ambassador

UNITED NATIONS  –  NEW  YORK  –  “A just and lasting resolution that ends the occupation and delivers peace for both Israelis and Palestinians is long overdue”,  Ambassador Karen Pierce, Permanent Representative of the United Kingdom to the UN believes.  The UK ambassador made the remark during this week’s  UN Security Council open debate on the Middle East including the Israeli-Palestinian issue. 

  “We understand and share the deep frustration on all sides at the lack of progress on the Middle East Peace Process.”

“We continue to urge all parties to de-escalate & for Iran to take the opportunity to come in from the cold & pursue its legitimate interests in the region peacefully, with full respect for international rules.”

Ambassador Pierce Calls Out Russia On Syria  Use Of Chemical Weapons 

-Accuses Russia of “Disinformation” campaign

Ambassador Pierce also stated that the world would be better served if Russia, as a UNSC P5 member, “joined us in upholding the work of OPCW, (Organization For The Prevention of Chemical Weapons) bringing to an end once and for all the risk that the Syrian authorities might again use chemical weapons.”
