Boko Haram Jihadists Kill 92 Chadian Soldiers, 50 Nigerian Troops In Weekend Massacres

Nearly 100 Chadian soldiers were killed in a weekend attack by Boko Haram extremists on an island army base in the north-central Africa nation President Idriss Deby Itno announced Tuesday. The attack took place on the Boma Peninsula, in Lac province, which borders Niger and Nigeria.
“We lost 92 of our soldiers, noncommissioned officers and officers,” in the attack overnight Sunday in Boma. It’s the first time we have lost so many men.”

50 Nigerian Soldiers killed in Deadly Boko Haram Ambush
Boko Haram extremists also killed at least 50 Nigerian soldiers in another weekend ambush near Goneri village in northern Yobe state, military officials told The Associated Press. Boko Haram has killed tens of thousands during its 10-year insurgency in northern Nigeria. According to the United Nations, 36,000 people have been killed and close to 2 million have been displaced in northeastern Nigeria since Boko Haram began its insurgency in 2009.
