2 Injured in Hamilton Heights, Manhattan Fire

NEW YORK – At least two people were injured when a fire burned through a West Harlem apartment building early Monday morning, according to the New York City Fire Department. The two-alarm fire broke out around 6:52 a.m. on the second floor of the six-story building on Broadway, near West 140th Street in Hamilton Heights, FDNY said. The fire began on the third floor but had extended to the fourth floor, prompting a second alarm, an FDNY spokesperson said. At least 100 FDNY firefighters were on the scene battling the blaze which was reported under control approximately one hour later. Two persons were taken to hospital with unknown injuries. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
