According to the FDNY, the flames quickly extended from apartments on the first floor up to the second level. That prompted the first responding FDNY units to call for additional help with the fire going  up to four alarms. About 40  FDNY units with 200 members responded to fast spreading blaze.  It remains  unclear  how many families were displaced by the blaze.
