Snow returned to the five boroughs of the New York City area Thursday dumping several inches across the region. Before this latest snowstorm, New York City had been hit with 33.8 inches of snow this year. The normal seasonal average is 25.8 inches. About 3-5 inches of snow fell in the NY City area. Light snow began falling early Thursday at sunrise with heavier snow falling steady between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. Forecasts called for total snowfall accumulations of 4 to 8 inches by the end of the snow storm on Friday. This is now a top-10 snowiest February on record in NYC, according to NY-1 Weather. More than two feet of snow so far this month, and counting. 24.4” at Central Park.
