3 Firefighters Injured Battling Fire in Manhattan Commercial Building Near Macy’s

NEW  YORK  CITY –  Three New York City firefighters were reportedly injured Wednesday battling a two-alarm fire at a commercial building  near Macy’s.  According to fire officials,  the blaze began at approximately 8:30 a.m.  in the  five-story building located at at 38 West 39th St. in midtown Manhattan.  The fire was mostly confined to the second and third floors.  About 100 firefighters were on the scene of the blaze which was brought under control at 11:15 a.m. The injured firefighters were treated for minor injuries at a local hospital.  The cause of the fire was still being investigated.

The five-story building houses the Cuban-Chinese restaurant Calle Dao on the ground floor.
