WASHINGTON  DC  –  The United Nations  human rights office said more than 406 civilians have been killed in Ukraine since Russia’s invasion began on February 24.   The UN High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR)  released the grim statistics in a statement Monday, adding that a further  801 civilians have also been injured.  OHCHR believes that the real figures are considerably higher, especially in Government- controlled territory and especially in recent days, as the receipt of information from some locations where intense hostilities have been going on has been delayed and many reports are still pending corroboration.

In America’s Capital city, there has been a constant stream of people laying flowers and placing signs outside Ukraine’s embassy to show support since the Russian invasion.
