UN Chief Travels To Moscow To Meet With Russian President Putin on Ukraine

UNITED  NATIONS   –    NEW  YORK    –  UN Secretary-General António Guterres will meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Moscow on Tuesday on the Ukraine war.  During a press conference with Russian Foreign Minister Sergery Lavrov, Guterres called for a ceasefire in Ukraine.  The Secretary-General traveled to Moscow Tuesday, after having met Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan in Ankara Monday.  In his meeting with the Turkish President, the Secretary-General expressed his support for Turkey’s ongoing diplomatic efforts in relation to the war in Ukraine. 

Secretary-General Guterres will have a working meeting and lunch with Foreign Minister  Lavrov and will then be received by President Putin.
