Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel led thousands in a march in Havana on Thursday in support of Palestine. They marched along the capital city’s famous Malecón seawall in front of the U.S. Embassy calling for a free Palestine. The protesters demanded an end to the war between Israel and Hamas. In September Díaz-Canel reaffirmed his country’s “unconditional support” for the right of Palestine to be a free and sovereign State during official talks with his Palestinian leader Mahmoud Abbas who visiting Cuba to attend the G77+China Summit. The conflict began Oct. 7 when Hamas militants entered southern Israel, killing about 1,200 people and taking about 240 hostages being taken to Gaza. Nearly 15,000 people have died since the combat started.

Thousands of pro-Palestinian protesters, led by Cuba’s President Diaz-canal marched in Havana in front of the US embassy calling to “free Palestine” and accused Israel of “genocide.”
